Our New York City Book Club is back and ready to talk romance, hockey, and high stakes as we dive into Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid. This event is a fantastic opportunity for queer and ally professionals to step away from the blueprints and job sites for an evening of connection and community building. We’ll be discussing the secret relationship between rivals Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov, exploring how their journey resonates with our own experiences of authenticity in and out of the spotlight.
Note: From now until Valentine's Day, the e-book is instantly available without wait from NYPL so you don't need to worry about looking for the always sold out physical book.

About The Book
Two icy rivals. One steamy secret. This story of two hockey heartthrobs in a secret relationship is the basis for the hit streaming show of the same name.
Nothing interferes with pro hockey star Shane Hollander’s game.
Now that he’s captain of the Montreal Voyageurs, he won’t let anything jeopardize that—definitely not the sexy rival he loves to hate.
Boston Bears captain Ilya Rozanov is everything Shane’s not. The self—proclaimed king of the ice, he’s as cocky as he is talented. No one can beat him—except Shane. Publicly, they’re enemies. Privately, they can’t stop touching each other.
The smart thing to do? Walk away, once a few secret hookups turn into a struggle to keep their relationship out of the press. The truth could ruin them both. But for Shane and Ilya, secrecy is soon no longer an option…

About Book Club
The Build Out Alliance book club brings members of our community together, from avid readers to short-story dabblers, around many queer voices captured by the written word. Our meetings include open and honest conversations about each book, where we welcome all critiques and opinions. Many of these books are an opportunity to educate ourselves about queer history and identity, often linked to some of the most pressing issues we face today. Book Club’s range of selections intentionally promotes insight into a wide spectrum of topics, identities, and stories within the queer community.
