Our Washington DC group is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity’s Washington D.C. & Northern Virginia group to turn the dream of homeownership into a reality at the Deanwood Build Site. This is a unique opportunity for queer and ally professionals in the design, construction, and real estate industry to trade their office gear for tool belts and make a tangible impact on our local community. Whether you're a seasoned site super or have never picked up a hammer, you’ll be adding immense value by helping with early site preparations that lay the foundation for a family's future. Expect a day of hard work, meaningful connection, and the rewarding feeling of building a more inclusive and supportive world.
Safety Information
Please wear comfortable, durable clothing, loose-fitting jeans or work pants, short or long sleeve shirts, thick-soled closed toe shoes, or work boots. Most volunteers find it helpful to wear layers as the temperature can vary throughout the day. We do not allow leggings, tights, sleeveless shirts, or inappropriate footwear on our sites.
